Introduction

I have been an artist all my life. I never wanted to be anything else. We are usually good at what we love as success breeds more success. It is the natural occurrence of things. I am happy to say I have enjoyed a long career of making and showing my work. I am a successful artist. I was given the freedom to love art.

My most recent project has been publishing my book Art. You Be The Judge. (2024) In it I address the insecurities I have found in many adults who think art is only for a select few. That is false. We all know what we like. We have an ‘art’ instinct inside that guides us. Children follow their emotional responses easily without reservation.

Unfortunately as we grow up, our “reason”, (our brain), overrides our feelings when we encounter art. We accept that judgment because we think we don’t “know enough” to justify our art reactions. We have been taught that one must be educated, rich, talented and otherwise part of the elite group who are the only ones supposedly privy to the enjoyment of art. I want to talk about that Art Myth, however and whenever, I can.

Please join my blog if you want to talk about art too. On your terms. No biases here, except that your own instincts should be recognized as valid as the opinions of Museums, Galleries and other art experts.

Join me. Let’s talk about it.
